Paul:
While attending high school, the chemistry course offered did not provide me with a sufficient background to take on college level chemistry classes. Chez Chem was perfect for me because it started with the essential building blocks, and developed my understanding of chemistry from there. Without it, there is no way I could have succeeded in college chemistry.
Pat:
As a parent, I was delighted to find Chez Chem. The program is extremely well organized and easy to follow. This enabled my college student to spend a winter break studying the chemistry he had forgotten or never learned three years earlier. As a result, he was able to pass chemistry and proceed to graduate school.
Ethyn:
The field of chemistry is both one of the most challenging and underserved fields in the STEM majors, and upon beginning my junior year of high school, I would have never seen myself continuing my own educational career in chemistry. My plans changed dramatically when introduced to the school Chez Chem, and it has facilitated my growth and passion within the field of chemistry for years and many more to come.
While challenging, the Chez Chem coursework exceeds itself in its summarization of fundamental chemical concepts, and presents the curriculum in a clear, concise, and approachable way as to prepare any up-and-coming chemist for their college career. Chez Chem stands as both an independent online course, covering more material than most college-level General Chemistry courses, and as being perfect supplemental material for those students struggling in any chemistry course. The provided video lectures go over tried-and-true methods for solving problems relating to subjects from mass balance to pH calculations which I still use today in my senior-level University chemistry courses. As a chemistry tutor in college, I often found myself using Chez Chem to aid in providing exercises to illustrate the hard-to-grasp concepts, and it resulted in many passing a notoriously difficult course.
For those responsible for teaching AP Chemistry, Chez Chem offers a multitude of worksheets and chemistry exercises which work in tandem to traditional lectures and offer perfect foundations in understanding and applying concepts to the AP exam. Chez Chem delivers the material in a way that not only exceeds preparation for an AP Chemistry exam, but also in a way for students to retain the material for years after successful completion. Chez Chem’s prestige in delivery and mastery of chemical topics for both high school and college-level chemistry has even earned AP-instructors who utilize it the highly distinguished Siemen’s Award for Advance Placement Instruction.
Claire:
As a student that isn't naturally drawn to science, Chez Chem made chemistry accessible, allowing me to enjoy the actual process of learning something outside my natural talent and comfort zone.
Micall:
I greatly enjoyed your class. Especially now that I have another Chemistry class to compare it to. At first, the teaching strategy you have seemed intimidating because of the constant workload, but once you get used to it, it is really not overbearing. I never felt overwhelmed to the point where I didn't think I could finish. It was always reasonable in my opinion and there were plenty of notes, videos, and other resources to help understand. I still use my big binder! It helps me understand the things I don't remember. The daily worksheets and the reviews for each unit, especially, are my lifesavers! They helped me so much and last year I felt like I wanted to be a chemist. I knew the material very well and was able to score high on all of my tests.
This year however has been a big challenge for me. It really showed me how appreciative I am to the aggressive work style you have. Chemistry is a hard topic to understand. I miss having notes to take and quick warm up to help refresh my memory of the hard concepts we learned the day before.
Thank you for all you have done for me. I greatly enjoyed having you as a teacher. I hope your animals are doing well also and I miss seeing cute little videos of them. Thank you Thank you Thank you!
